Ben graduated from the University of Iowa in 2001 with a B.S. in Exercise Science and earned his Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Iowa in 2003.

He practiced in the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area for 7 years before joining the team at Dubuque Physical Therapy in 2011. Ben has a wide variety of experience including home health, long-term care, general orthopedics, sports rehab, and vestibular rehab.

He is certified in FMS which helps screen for deficiencies in movement quality. He is also certified in the ASTYM method for treating soft tissue injuries and is trained in dry needling to address muscular trigger points.

Ben teaches Training to Run, a small group class for distance runners to help improve running efficiency and to reduce risk of injury.

Ben and his wife have four children and he enjoys spending time with family, running, hiking, reading, gardening, and beekeeping.
